Title:
MOTOR CONTROLLER AND ELECTRIC POWER STEERING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2010/032705
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A microcomputer (17) serves the role of detecting and evaluating abnormalities in a power shutoff switch for an ECU (11) that functions as a motor controller. In this instance, the microcomputer (17) first determines whether there is a short-circuit fault in a first FET (26) based on output voltages (V1, V2) detected by a first FET (26) and a second FET (27), both of which are switched off. The microcomputer (17) next determines whether there is a disconnection fault in the first FET (26) based on the output voltages (V1, V2) of the first FET (26) and the second FET (27) detected when only the first FET (26) is switched on. When it is determined from this that no fault has occurred in the first FET (26), the microcomputer (17) determines whether or not there is a short-circuit fault or disconnection fault in the second FET (27) based on a comparison of the output voltage (V1) of the first FET (26) detected subsequently and the charge voltage (Vc) of a smoothing capacitor (22).
