Abstract:
A gear motor (motor device) (1) provided with a three-phase motor (2) and a terminal box (4) which houses a power supply connection terminal (5a) for connecting the three-phase motor (2) to an AC power supply (6) is provided with: a power detection circuit (53) that detects power supplied to the three-phase motor (2); and a control unit (51) that performs prescribed control when an abnormality of a load applied on the three-phase motor (2) or on a device to be driven is detected on the basis of the power detected by the power detection circuit (53). The power detection circuit (53) and the control unit are housed in the terminal box (4).
