Abstract:
A motor drive apparatus drives motor generators (MG1, MG2) using power from a DC power supply (20). The motor generators (MG1, MG2) make rotors with permanent magnets installed thereon rotate, using current magnetic-fields generated by making drive currents flow through coils of stators. An ECU (300) of the motor drive apparatus controls inverters (130), which are configured so as to convert DC power from the DC power supply (20) into AC power for driving the motor generators (MG1, MG2), such that the temperatures of the permanent magnets installed on the rotors are raised, by superimposing offset currents onto the inverters (130), and onto at least one phase of the coils of the stators.
