Abstract:
This motor drive device is provided with an inverter (4) capable of being connected to n (n is an integer of 2 or more) motors (41, 42) each having a permanent magnet in the rotor. The motor drive device performs a braking operation on i (i is any integer from 1 to (n-1)) motors among the n motors and then performs the braking operation on j (j is any integer from 1 to (n-i)) motors among motors other than the i motors among the n motors. It is possible to reduce the risks of inverter failure and motor demagnetization due to overcurrent by reducing the current flowing through the inverter and the motors when performing the braking operation.
