Abstract:
A motor drive system in which a plurality of generators (6-11) being driven through mechanical power generators (1-5) are connected in parallel with a common distribution bus (12) and a plurality of power converters (61) connected with the common distribution bus (12) and outputting an AC power of variable amplitude and variable frequency drives a plurality of motors (23-27) for driving load machines (33-36). Each power converter (61) comprises means for controlling the frequency of the common distribution bus (12) to a specified value by controlling an effective power being transferred between each power converter (61) and the common distribution bus (12). Furthermore, each power converter (61) comprises means for controlling the output DC voltage of a converter (81) to a specified value by controlling an effective power being transferred between each power converter (61) and each motor (23-27).
