Provided is a motor driving device capable of suppressing load vibration as well as reducing motor loss. This motor driving device (50) is provided with a control unit (51) which adjusts the range of the allowed variation in the rotating speed of a motor (M) connected to a compressor (11) on the basis of at least one among the rotation speed and load torque of the motor (M). Thus, the effectiveness of a torque control that ensures that the output torque of the motor (M) matches a load torque of the compressor (11), or the effectiveness of a constant current control that ensures that the output torque of the motor (M) is constant regardless of variations in the load torque can be continuously adjusted according to the operating conditions of the motor (M).
