Abstract:
Foldable, motor driven tricycle classified as the IPC B62K, comprising motor (14) which may be integrated in the drive wheel (13) and attached to the chassis (15). Chassis comprises certain part of the control system with control column (32), mode selection mechanism, swivel arms with foot rests, steering system and steering wheels. Steering mode may be changed while driving, and choice between a conventional and leaning mode may be done by acting on the mode selection mechanism control lever (39) preferably attached to the control column (32). Maneuverability of the vehicle may be adjusted by replacing one pair of linear guides (68 and 69) with other pair of differently shaped Cardan joint guiding track (66), while by replacing the left (22) and the right foot rests (20) and by relocating the control column (32) from right to left, configuration of the chassis may be changed from delta to tadpole.

AMENDED CLAIMS

CLAIMS

1. Motor powered tricycle with a steering mode selector comprising a control column (32), drive wheel (13), and a steering system which operates on two steering wheels (34, 36) wherein the drive wheel (13) is attached to a chassis (15), each steering wheel (34, 36) connected to accompanied swivel arm, which are by hinges connected to chassis (15) and coupled by ball joints (67) to leaning system rocker arm (44) which is part of steering mode selection mechanism that is controlled by mode selection lever (39) from the control column (32) that is attached to control column rocker arm (42) and with said leaning system rocker arm (44) linked to chassis (15) by single rocker arms axle (49) and mode selection mechanism body (50) which is connected to mode selection lever (39) and being moved along rocker arms axle (49) according to inputs from said mode selection lever (39) to control leaning system rocker arm (44) and control column rocker arm (42) by locking one of the said rocker arms in neutral position while simultaneously releasing second rocker arm, allowing its rotation around rocker arms axle (49). 2. Motor powered tricycle with a steering mode selector according to claim 1 wherein the mode selection mechanism control lever (39) acts on the mode selection mechanism body (50) allowing choice between leaning or classic steering mode.

Motor powered tricycle with a steering mode selector according to claim 1, wherein steering modes are changed by acting on mode selection lever (39), connected to mode selection mechanism body (50) which is setting tricycle in classic mode by locking leaning system rocker arm (44) and consequently swivel arms in neutral position while releasing control column rocker arm (42) and attached control column (32) and setting tricycle to leaning mode by unlocking leaning system rocker arm (44) and swivel arms while locking control column rocker arm (42) and control column (32).

Motor powered tricycle with a steering mode selector comprising a control column (32), drive wheel (13), and steering system which operates on two steering wheels (34, 36) wherein the drive wheel (13) is attached to chassis (15), each steering wheel (34, 36) connected to accompanied swivel arm, which are by hinges connected to chassis (15) and coupled by ball joints (67) to leaning system rocker arm (44) which is part of steering mode selection mechanism that is controlled by mode selection lever (39) from the control column (32) which is attached to control column rocker arm (42) and with said leaning system rocker arm (44) linked to chassis (15) by single rocker arms axle (49); said control column rocker arm (42) is through ball joints (43) on each side connected to accompanied steering rods (25, 27) and through joints (64) and additional connecting rods (61) connected to wheel torque arms (60, 61) and to steering wheels (34, 36) in such way that said joints (64) are linked to accompanied linear guides (68, 69) which are attached each to one swivel arm on the arm lower segment (26, 28), to convert motions of joint (64) caused by movements of swivel arms when tricycle is in leaning mode or caused by control column (32) inputs through steering rods (25, 27) when tricycle is in classical mode, to inputs for steering wheels (34, 36) rotation.

Motor powered tricycle with a steering mode selector according to claim 4, wherein linear guides (68, 69) may be interchangeable for the reason of altering the tricycle handling characteristics by replacing one pair of linear guides with another set with different guide tracks, allowing setting up of tricycle handling characteristics according to personal preferences.

6. Motor powered tricycle with a steering mode selector according to claim 4, wherein linear guides (60, 61) are allowing directional control in leaning mode only by leaning the tricycle to the side of a turn.

Motor powered tricycle with a steering mode selector according to claim 4, wherein tricycle is foldable for transport by disconnecting control column (32) from control column rocker arm (42), and by disconnecting steering wheels (34, 36) from swivel arms, and by disconnecting swivel arms lower segments (26, 28) from arm upper segments (16, 18) in such way that said arm upper segments (16, 18) are remaining connected to chassis (15) and arm lower segments (28, 26) become individual parts that being arranged with said steering wheels (34, 36) and control column (32) in certain way, enabling whole tricycle being fitted in regular sized suitcase.

8. A method for changing tricycle configuration wherein configuration may be changed from classic, so-called delta tricycle with one front and two rear wheels to inverted configuration, so-called tadpole tricycle with two front and one rear wheel by disconnecting foot rests (20, 22) from accompanied arm lower segments (26, 28) and reinstalling said footrests (20, 22) each to opposite side of initial location, and by replacing the control column (32) from the slot on the right side of the control column rocker arm (42) and by installing to the slot on the left side of the said control column rocker arm (42)

A method of claim 8, wherein tadpole configuration enables adding of removable saddl (90) by attaching said saddle to chassis (15) in order to allow driving from seated position
