The present invention relates to the technical field of electric vehicle motors. Disclosed are a motor and a side-mounted motor assembly mechanism. The motor comprises a rotor, magnetic steel sheets, a power output shaft, and a stator. The rotor is columnar and is provided with a plurality of magnetic steel sheet mounting holes in the length direction, and all the magnetic steel sheet mounting holes are distributed around the axis of the rotor; the number of the magnetic steel sheets is consistent with that of the magnetic steel sheet mounting holes, and the magnetic steel sheets are respectively located in the corresponding magnetic steel sheet mounting holes; the power output shaft is connected to the axis of the rotor; the stator is columnar and is sleeved around the rotor; the stator is provided with a plurality of coil through grooves in the length direction for accommodating coils. By means of this configuration, the motor is assembled in a side-mounted manner in the state of being parallel to wheels, and the problems in the prior art of how the motor is suitable for the side-mounted manner, and has a stable structure and high power performance are solved.
