Abstract:
A motor unit 1 contains a plurality of motors 10 coupled in the axial direction. A rotor 14 and a stator 16 are provided in housings 12 of the respective motors 10. At least part of a coolant pump 52 provided on the exterior of the housing 12 overlaps a stator coil 36 of the stator 16 in the radial direction. The total height of walls 46, 48 of the housing 12 is greater than the amount by which the coolant pump 52 protrudes from the outer surface of the housing 12. A driven gear 64 which meshes with a driving gear 62 mounted on a rotor shaft 18 is mounted on the coolant pump 52. In the housing 12, at least part of a rotation sensor 70 provided on the opposite side from the coolant pump 52 in the axial direction overlaps an outer peripheral part 66 of the driven gear 64 in an adjacent motor 10 in the axial direction and overlaps an inner peripheral part 68 thereof in the radial direction.
