Title:
MOULDING FOR GENERATING A MINERAL MELTED MASS TO BE DEFIBRATED IN ORDER TO PRODUCE INSULATING MATERIALS MADE OF MINERAL FIBRES
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO2006042755
Kind Code:
A3
Abstract:
A moulding is disclosed for generating a mineral melted mass to be defibrated in order to produce insulating materials made of mineral fibres, in particular rock wool. The moulding comprises a primary or secondary energy carrier, such as coke, and/or primary and/or secondary raw materials to be melted and defibrated so as to form mineral fibres, such as diabase or basalt, as well as limestone and/or dolomite or slags, in particular slags from the steel industry, such as blast furnace slags as correcting substances, and/or a recycling material obtained from mineral fibre insulating materials, in particular disaggregated mineral fibre insulating materials and/or production waste in the form of mineral fibre insulating materials which are disaggregated and moulded so as to produce moulded bricks. In order to produce a generic moulding with a shape which is particularly advantageous for melting in a melting aggregate, and which can be easily and economically produced, the cross-section of the moulded brick, in at least one of its large axes, is circular or elliptic, or has the shape of a circular arc, or the cross-section of the moulded brick, in at least one of its large axes, is polygonal, and the moulded brick has surfaces that intersect at obtuse angles, or the moulded brick is designed as a cube with edges of more than 200 mm length, in particular no more than 300 mm, and preferably from 200 to 250 mm.
