Abstract:

Provided are a mounting assist member and a lighting device. The mounting assist member is configured so as to stably hold, irrespective of conditions of the peripheral edge of a mounting hole in a mounting member, a body to be mounted which is adapted for mounting in a hole and has a smaller size than the mounting hole in the mounting member. A mounting assist member (10) used to mount, in a mounting hole formed in a mounting member, a body to be mounted which is adapted for mounting in a hole and has a smaller size than the mounting hole. One surface (12a, 12a, ...) of each support plate section (12, ...) of the mounting assist member (10) is in surface contact with that peripheral edge of the mounting hole which is on the upper surface side of a ceiling. As a result, even if the peripheral edge of the mounting hole has irregularities, an influence of the irregularities is reduced and a lighting device adapted for mounting in a hole and having a smaller size than the mounting hole in the ceiling can be stably held at the ceiling in a predetermined direction and with a predetermined holding force.
