Abstract:
An electronic component mounting machine of the present invention is provided with: a supply device 25, 26 which supplies a component at a supply position; a mounting head with a holder for holding the component supplied by the supply device; and a photoelectric sensor 27, 28 capable of detecting foreign matter in a predetermined area including an area over the supply position. At times other than during a holding operation by the holder at the supply position, the presence or absence of foreign matter in the predetermined area is determined on the basis of the result of detection by the photoelectric sensor. In this way, the presence or absence of a component in the vicinity of the supply position is confirmed, and contact between the mounting head and a component that has fallen in the vicinity of the supply position can be prevented.
