Abstract:
A solar panel assembly (10) comprises a solar panel unit (11) that is mounted for rotating about a horizontal axis (30). The solar panel unit (11) includes solar panels (12) upon which snow may accumulate. The solar panel assembly (10) is configured with the area (52) on one side of the horizontal axis (30) is greater than the area (54) on the other side of the horizontal axis so that when a predetermined volume or mass of snow has accumulated on the solar panels (12) the solar panel unit (11) rotates to cause snow to move off the panels.
