It is intended to provide a novel spared and an edible oil which have a novel texture and flavor never observed in the existing spreads and edible oils, yet sustain a number of favorable characteristics as a spread or an edible oil and are excellent in storage properties and handling properties. As the results of studies, it is found out that when an edible oil and an appropriate emulsifying agent or a composition which is in the form of an water-in-oil type emulsion in using are filled together with an appropriate gas propellant into an aerosol container and mixed before using, the jetted matter foams up at jetting to give a mousse-type product. It is also found out that this mousse-type food is a novel mousse-type spread or a mousse-type edible oil which has a novel texture and flavor never observed in the existing foods, yet sustains favorable characteristics as a spread or an edible oil and is excellent in storage properties and handling properties. Thus, the above object has been achieved.
