Abstract:
A movement device where a clearance between a contact body and a support rail is
automatically eliminated, so that the device has no play. This can be achieved
without an increase in preload and even with wear on the contact body and the support
rail. The preload device (8) has a rotation body (10), a first urging member (18),
a base member (12), and a spherical member (20). The rotation body (10) is rotatably
installed in the device, has the contact body (7) connected to the rotation body
(10) and located at a position displaced from the axis (b) of rotation of the rotation
body, and is placed so that the contact body (7) comes into contact with and separates
from the support rail (2) when the rotation body (10) is rotated. The first urging
member (18) urges the rotation body (10) in the direction in which the contact
body (7) is in contact with the support rail (2). The base member (12) covers at
least a portion of the outer peripheral surface or inner peripheral surface of
the rotation body (10) and has a facing surface formed such that the distance between
the facing surface and the rotation body (10) is gradually increased in the direction
of rotation of the rotation body (10) by the urging force by the first urging member
(18). The spherical member (20) is provided between the rotation body (10) and
the facing surface of the base member (12) so as to be in contact with the facing
surface and the rotation body (10).
