Abstract:
This moving body detection method comprises finding the average value (Tave), and not the median value (T6), of pixel values (T1-T8) at the same pixel position overlapping one another in a plurality of frames of superposed images. A threshold (Tth) obtained by multiplying the average value (Tave) by a predetermined number is employed for distinguishing space debris from other objects that emit light at a higher luminance than the space debris. In order to detect space debris accurately, the average value (Tave') of pixel values (T1-T4, T6-T8) below or equal to the threshold (Tth) is employed as an evaluation value for space debris detection.
