Abstract:

Provided is a moving body detection system for detecting a moving body in an accurate manner without suffering a collision by the moving body. A moving body detection system (1) is provided with a stereo camera (3) for imaging a stereo video image, and a system body (4) into which the stereo video image is inputted. The system body (4) has a processor (6) for processing the stereo video image. The stereo camera (3) and the system body (4) are installed outside the movement path so as to not interfere with the movement of the moving body. The stereo camera (3) images a stereo video image that includes, in the imaging range, a detection range that has been set on the movement path as a spatial range. The processor (6) calculates the spatial position of the moving body on the basis of images corresponding to each frame in the stereo video image and the inter-optical-axis distance and the focal distance of the stereo camera (3), and determines that the moving body is detected when the calculated spatial position of the moving body is within the detection range. The stereo camera (3) and the system body (4) thereby detect the moving body in an accurate manner without suffering a collision by the moving body.
