Abstract:
This moving object recognition device comprises an object detector, a position detector, a road direction estimation unit, and a movement direction estimation unit. In S400 and S402, the object detector detects a moving object moving along a road near a host vehicle, and a roadside object of the road, from objects present near the host vehicle. In S400, the position detector detects the positions of the moving object and the roadside object detected by the object detector. In S406, the road direction estimation unit estimates a road direction of the road on which the moving object is moving on the basis of the position of the roadside object as detected by the position detector. In S408 and S410, the movement direction estimation unit estimates a movement direction of the moving object on the basis of the road direction estimated by the road direction estimation unit.
