Title:
MRI SYSTEM EMPLOYING SUPERCONDUCTING MAGNET AND ITS MAINTENANCE METHOD
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2007/060950
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
An MRI system in which a static magnetic field can be generated stably by sustaining the
cooling capacity of a cryocooler within an appropriate range. A magnetic resonance
imaging system employing a superconducting magnet (101) comprises superconducting
coils (201, 202), containers (203, 204) for containing the superconducting
coils and a refrigerant, a cooling section (208) for liquefying the gas in the
container produced through vaporization of the refrigerant, a pressure-detecting
section (215) for detecting the pressure in the container, a heat generating
section (216) for generating heat in at least one of the cooling section and the
container, a control section (127), and a computer (114). The control section
(127) controls heat generation of the heat generating section (216) depending
on the pressure detected at the pressure-detecting section (215). The computer
(114) judges whether the cooling section requires maintenance or not using heat
generation from the heat generating section (216).
