Abstract:
The objective of the present invention is to provide a manual transmission (MT) type straddled vehicle with which a decrease in the rotational speed of an engine crankshaft is suppressed, while having a high degree of design freedom, capable of being applied both to compact vehicles and large vehicles. An MT type straddled vehicle according to the present invention periodically acquires the rotational speed of a crankshaft, and controls an electric current between an electricity storage device and an electric generator motor, and in a drive startup period during combustion operation, begins increasing an electric current that is supplied to the electric generator motor in order to drive the crankshaft. The drive startup period is a period after a time at which the periodically acquired rotational speed has reached a maximum value as a result of a certain combustion, and before a time at which the rotational speed is less than a middle speed range, for a case in which a range of the rotational speed between a minimum value reached before the combustion subsequent to the abovementioned combustion, and the abovementioned maximum value, is divided equally into three ranges.
