Abstract:
The present invention relates to a multi-axis position control device which can control multiple axes, including the 1X axis, the 2X axis, the Y axis and the Z axis, of an electric drive using an electric motor which is a combination of a servomotor and a cylinder as a single unit, and which is applicable to a wide variety of vehicle body assemblies. The present invention provides a new system of locating and clamping means for assembly of a wide variety of vehicular body parts, by using the combination servomotor-cylinder, electric motor to load a wide variety of auto body parts onto a parts welding system, and regulate the clamping and loading of the body parts onto the 1X axis, the 2X axis, the Y axis and the Z axis, and almost all positions within the welding system. The present system operates as a single unit for application to a wide variety of body part types, and is adaptable to changes in auto models without the need to replace the single unit, and provides a more efficient means for multi-axis position control in assembly of auto bodies.
