Description:

Multi-chambered Inner-part of Tyre/Tube and Manufacturing Process for the same

Field of Invention: This invention relates to Multi-chambered Inner-part of tyre/tube and Manufacturing Process for the same, more particularly to decrease possibility of becoming the tyre flat in case of puncture. Background:

The present tyre systems available with the users have a tyre fitted to the wheel with a valve to allow pressurised air or any other pressurised fluid like nitrogen to get inside the tyre and in case of need to evacuate the same pressurised fluid from the tyre. When a tubeless-tyre gets a puncture due to penetration of nail or any other foreign material, a valve like structure is formed in the surface and the pressurised fluid escapes out, which makes the tyre flat. The same failure occurs in case of existing tyre-tube arrangement as well. To restrict the pressurised fluid from escaping in case of puncture, sealing liquid or powder is kept inside the cavity of tyre / tube in the present available technology. However the sealing substance can seal only very small holes made due to penetration of the foreign object. Again the existing sealing substance is not only expensive but also decreases the life of the tyre and the sealing substance needs to be replaced within few months adding more cost to it. Prior art as described in US Patent No. 6,269,855 teaches about a multi-chambered tyre system which is provided with multiple chambers in radial direction with corresponding input valves. It has a major drawback that in every chamber pressurized air has to be filled separately. Object: Object of this invention is to obviate the above drawbacks by providing a "Multi- chambered Inner-part of Tyre/Tube and Manufacturing Process for the same" for vehicles. This tyre is suitable for tubeless, tyre-tube combination, radial, bias, bias-ply tyres or any tyre that uses any pressurised fluid to carry the load. Summary Of Invention: To achieve the said objective, this invention provides a "Multi-Chambered Inner-part of Tyre/Tube and Manufacturing Process for the same" for vehicles comprising of:

at least one chamber adjacent to the crown portion of the tyre having a no-return inlet valve in the inner part of said chamber to provide pressurized air to enter inside the chamber, at least one master chamber adjacent to the rim joined to one inlet of master valve, - the said Master Valve having at least two outlets, one of which acts as the inlet for the said Master Chamber and the other outlet supplying pressurised fluid to different chambers, the pressurised fluid is provided to all the chambers by separate No-Return Valves and in case of tube, chambers other than Master Chamber are provided with No- Return outlet valves for maintenance purpose.

The chambers are joined to the inner part of the tubeless tyre or outer part of the tube by the help of adhesives and then vulcanized.

The chambers are made up of thin, flexible material having property similar to rubber material and a re joined to the inner wall of the tubeless tyre or outer wall of the master chamber of the tube as the case may be; in such a manner that in case of puncture, only pressurized fluid of one chamber escapes, other chambers remaining almost unaffected; and in the edges of the chambers hard material like nylon, rayon are provided for directional stability.

At least one outlet of the Master Valve being attached to at least one hose, and the hose supplies pressurised fluid to every chamber by no-return inlet valve joined to inner part of the chamber.

At least one no-return outlet valve, made up of flexible elastomer material, is provided on the outer side of each chamber of the tube, so that for maintenance purposes all the fluid of the chamber can be evacuated. At least one side-wall is provided along circumferential direction and/or radial direction for formation of the said chambers. The manufacturing process for the same is as follows:

- rolling flexible sheet material having property similar to rubber material along with the additives like nylon, rayon and carbon black to keep the chambers in desired shape in normal condition and punctured condition;

- cutting, trimming the rolled flexible sheet material to the dimension;

- piercing the no-return inlet valves to the flexible sheet material in such a manner that it can be fitted to the hose and the pressurised fluid can enter into the chambers and cannot come out and joining the same; piercing the no-return inlet valves to the flexible sheet material into the outer surface of the chambers in case of tube and joining the same;

- joining the said trimmed and rolled flexible sheet material in the inner side of tubeless tyre or outer side of the tube as the case may be by the help of adhesives and vulcanizing the same for better joining;
