Abstract:

A multi-color coloring laser marking-use chromatic color colorant capable of marking in at least two different tones by applying at least two laser beams having different energies to the different positions on a molding, and a multi-color coloring laser marking-use polymer composition capable of forming, for example, a colorant-derived chromatic color marking and a white marking on the surface of a molding giving a black or dark-color ground color, a laser marking method, and a multi-color marking-carrying molding or the like. The chromatic color colorant has a heating peak in a 360-590°C range by a differential thermal analysis. The laser marking-use composition includes a chromatic color colorant, a black substance (such as carbon black) that perishes itself or discolors when exposed to a laser beam, and a polymer, the contents of the chromatic color colorant and the black substance being respectively 0.001-3 pts. mass and 0.01-2 pts. mass per 100 pts. mass of the polymer.
