Title:
MULTI-ELECTRODE SUBMERGED ARC WELDING METHOD
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2017/141760
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided is a multi-electrode submerged arc welding method using five or six electrodes, which is able to achieve a deep weld penetration and a high weld deposit amount by supplying a large current, and which is also able to generate stable arcs from the respective electrodes so as to prevent weld defects and to provide a bead having a preferable shape by suppressing magnetic interference, and which is further able to achieve an increase in welding speed. In this multi-electrode submerged arc welding method where thick steel plates of 15-45 mm in plate thickness are butt-welded using multiple electrodes, the distances between the electrodes, the current density of the welding current, and the angles of the electrodes are each set to appropriate levels.
