Abstract:
In order to enable passing this multi-joint robot arm through an opening that is narrower than a workpiece, the multi-joint robot arm is provided with: a pair of support parts (251) erected on a base member over a predetermined distance in a width direction; a first arm (21) that is supported by a first joint so as to rotate with respect to the pair of support parts and is formed from a pair of first side plate members (210) each having a step such that a gap on the end portion side opposite to the first joint is reduced toward the inner side in the width direction; a second arm (22) that is disposed inside the pair of first side plate members, is supported by a second joint so as to rotate with respect to the first side plate members, and is formed from a pair of second side plate members (220) each having a step such that a gap on the end portion side opposite to the second joint is widened toward the outer side in the width direction; and a robot hand (26) assembled toward the leading end part on the side opposite to the second joint in the second arm.
