Abstract:
A multi-layer sliding member 1 comprises: a back plate 2 formed from a steel plate; a copper-plated or nickel-plated film 4 formed on one surface 3 of the back plate 2; a porous metal sintered layer 5 integrally bonded to the surface 3 of the back plate 2 via the film 4; and a covering layer 8 made from a synthetic resin composition that fills voids 6 and covers the surface 7 of the porous metal sintered layer 5. In addition to a PTFE main component, the synthetic resin composition contains 5-30 mass% of a thermotropic liquid crystal polymer, 5-12 mass% of a poly aryl ketone resin, 5-12 mass% of a melted fluorine resin, and 1-5 mass% of a polyimide resin as additives.
