Abstract:
The present application discloses a multi-link communication-based probe request method and apparatus. A sending end device can explicitly indicate to a corresponding receiving end device that the sending end device needs to request element information related to a key update. The method comprises: the sending end device generates a probe request frame and sends the probe request frame. The probe request frame comprises a probe request variant multi-link element, which comprises first link information, the first link information comprising a first subfield and a second subfield, wherein when a value of the first subfield is a first value, a value of the second subfield is a second value, and a frame body of the probe request frame comprises a request element, but the first link information does not comprise the request element, the first link information is used for indicating to request element information of the first link related to a key update.
