Abstract:
The invention is a side view mirror (10) which provides the driver to see the back of the vehicle in the land vehicles, wherein it comprises a mirror carrier body (13) which consists of at least two mirrors (131), one being remote and the other being near; an actuator (12) which provides the mirror (131) suitable to the need to be visible by actuating said mirror carrier body (13) to rotate around its own axis; and a processor unit (50) with software actuating the actuator (12) so as to provide the near mirror to be automatically visible when the gear lever of the vehicle is in the reverse gear position and the remote mirror to be automatically visible when the gear lever of the vehicle shifted to the straight gear position.

Claims:
CLAIMS 1 . A side view mirror (10) which provides the driver to see the back of the vehicle in the land vehicles, characterized in comprising

- a mirror carrier body (13) which including at least two mirrors (131), one being remote and the other being near mirror;

- an actuator (12) which provides the suitable mirror (131) to be visible by actuating said mirror carrier body (13) to rotate around its own axis;

- a processor unit (50) with software actuating the actuator (12) so as to provide the near mirror to be automatically visible when the gear lever of the vehicle is in the reverse gear position and the remote mirror to be automatically visible when the gear lever of the vehicle shifted to the straight gear position. 2. The side view mirror (10) as in Claim 1 , characterized in comprising at least one light sensor (14) which provides darkening of the mirrors (131) in order to reduce and/or eliminate the light effect of the headlamps of the vehicle coming from the back on the mirror (131).

3. The side view mirror (10) as in Claim 1 , characterized in comprising a connector (30) which provides the connection of the actuator (12) and the vehicle in order to provide automatic control of the mirror carrier body (13).

The side view mirror (10) as in Claim 3, characterized in comprising an option changing button (20) which provides the driver to give command to the actuator (12) by means of said connector (30) in order to provide the desired mirror (131) to be visible. 5. The side view mirror (10) as in Claim 1 , characterized in that said mirror carrier body (13) is in the form of a prism.

6. The side view mirror (10) as in Claim 1 , characterized in comprising mirrors (131) with different optical characteristics and/or identical to each other in addition to remote and near mirrors.

Description:
A MULTI-OPTIONAL SIDE VIEW MIRROR

Technical Field

The invention relates to a side view mirror which provides the driver to easily see the back of the vehicles with the image reflected from the mirror in the cars and other land vehicles.

The invention especially relates to a multi-optional side view mirror which provides the driver to easily see the back of the vehicles with the image reflected from the mirror in the cars and other land vehicles and the image surface and angle of which can be changed according to the weather and road conditions, and position of the gear lever by means of an actuator.

State of the Art

Side view mirror is a type of mirror and a part of the vehicle, which provides the driver to easily see the back of the vehicles with the image reflected from the mirror in the cars and other land vehicles.

One disadvantage of state of the art is that headlamp lights of the vehicles coming from the back while driving, especially during the night travel, are reflected to the driver from the side view mirror and thus disturbs driver in the cars and other land vehicles. Especially when the headlamps referred to as high beams are turned on in the technical field, the vehicle present in front of the headlamp is negatively affected from this. When these negative conditions are experienced, driving safety falls into danger and accident risk may occur. Moreover, single option is provided for the side view mirrors, namely extra options providing proximity/ distance are not provided. When night drive option in the side view mirrors is used, ghost image problem is encountered and this in turn endangers the driving safety.

To conclude, eliminate the aforementioned disadvantages and offer solutions to the existing systems, new embodiments should be made with respect to the side view mirrors which provide the driver to easily see the back of the vehicle with the image reflected from the mirror in the cars and other land vehicles. Objects of the Invention

The present invention relates to a side view mirror with a multi-optional mirror, which meets the aforementioned requirements, eliminates all the disadvantages and offers some additional advantages, provides the driver to easily see the back of the vehicle with the image reflected from the mirror in the cars and other land vehicles and the image surface and angle of which can be changed according to the weather and road conditions by means of an actuator.

The primary object of the invention is to provide changing the image and angle of the side view mirror used in the vehicles in a manner to be determined by the driver according to the weather and road conditions. Especially, it is aimed to provide the near mirror to be automatically visible when the gear lever is in the reverse gear position and the remote mirror to be automatically visible when the gear lever is shifted to straight gear position.

Another object of the invention is to prevent the vehicle lights coming from the back affecting the vision of the driver while driving at night thanks to the light sensor.

Another object of the invention is to provide a driving safety by replacing the smoked, wet or dirty mirror with the clean mirror disposed inside the mirror box in rainy weathers.

To achieve the aforementioned objects, the present invention relates to a side view mirror which is used in order to provide the driver to see the back of the vehicle in the land vehicles. The main feature of the side view mirror is to comprise a mirror carrier body which includes at least two mirrors, one being remote and the other being near; an actuator which provides the mirror suitable to the need to be visible by actuating said mirror carrier body to rotate around its own axis; and a processor unit with software actuating the actuator so as to provide the near mirror to be automatically visible when the gear lever of the vehicle is in the reverse gear position and the remote mirror to be automatically visible when the gear lever of the vehicle shifted to the straight gear position.

Detailed Description of the invention

In this detailed description, the preferred embodiments of the side view mirror (10) according to the invention are described only for a better understanding of the subject without any limiting effect.

The invention relates to a multi-optional side view mirror (10) with a mirror carrier body, which provides the driver to easily see the back of the vehicle with the image reflected from the mirror in the cars and other land vehicles and which comprises mirror carrier body (13) that can change the image surface and angle thereof by means of an actuator (12) according to the weather and road conditions. Said mirror carrier body (13) comprises mirrors (131) with different optic characteristics and/or identical mirrors which may be alternative to each other. In the preferred embodiment of the invention, mirror carrier body (13) is in the form of prism and each lateral surface of the prism consists of mirrors (131). A representative view showing the side view mirror (10) and the connection thereof with the vehicle is given in Figure-1. Accordingly, said mirror carrier body (13) is positioned inside a protective mirror box (1 1). A light sensor (14) is disposed on said mirror box (11). Said light sensor (14) provides darkening of the mirror (131) so as to eliminate the effect of the headlamp lights coming from the back on the mirror (131).

An actuator (12) which provides the mirror carrier body (13) with the ability of rotating around its own axis by actuating the same and a connector (30) to provide the connection of said actuator (12) with the vehicle are provided. A option changing button (20), which is positioned in areas such as steering wheel and torpedo inside the vehicle and provides sending a command to the actuator (12) by means of said connector (30) in order to change image and angle of the mirror carrier body (13), is provided. The view of the preferred mirror carrier body (13) is given in Figure-2. Mirror carrier body (13) comprises at least two mirrors, one being remote and the other being near. Besides, it may comprise additional mirrors with different optical characteristics or alternative to each other during the use. During driving, the driver may provide the desired mirror (131) surface to be visible manually or automatically in line with the requirements. For instance, instead of the mirror (131) losing its function due to rain, frost, dirt etc. one of the clean mirrors (131) disposed in other surfaces becomes visible. Likewise, the respective surface becomes visible according to the remote or near mirror (131) need. The most important feature of the invention is that near mirror surface becomes automatically visible when gear lever (40) of the vehicle is in the reverse gear position and when the gear lever (40) is shifted to straight gear position remote mirror surface becomes again automatically visible. In order to realize this function, a processor unit (50) with a software determining the mirror (131) surface suitable to the gear lever (40) position is provided. Processor unit (50) sends a command to the actuator (12) and provides the mirror (131) to be visible according to the need.

In line with the information given above, the multi-optional side view mirror (10) according to the invention operates in the following manner. During driving, when the driver wants to provide a different mirror (131) to be visible, s/he pushes the option changing button (20) and gives the required command. The command actuates the actuator (12) which is placed to the side surface of the mirror carrier body (13) by means of the connector (30). In line with the command, the actuator (12) actuates the mirror carrier body (13) and provides the desired mirror (131) to be visible. When the gear lever (40) is shifted to the reverse gear position, on the other hand, the processor unit (50) provides the near mirror (31) to be automatically visible by means of the actuator (12). When the gear lever (40) is again shifted to the straight gear, on the other hand, the processor unit (50) provides the remote mirror (131) to be visible by means of the actuator (12).
