Abstract:
This multi-plate clutch used in combination with a drive mechanism capable of exerting pressing force along a shaft is provided with: one or more core plates each of which is connected to a first rotor that is rotatable around the shaft; one or more reaction plates which are arranged alternately with the core plates in the direction of the shaft, are each connected to a second rotor that is rotatable around the shaft, move along the shaft by receiving pressing force from the drive mechanism, and come into frictional contact with the core plates to brake the first rotor against the second rotor; one or more friction materials which are respectively fixed to surfaces of the core plates that come into contact with the reaction plates and each include warp and weft which are each made of carbon fiber and are interwoven orthogonally to each other; and a plurality of bottomed grooves respectively formed in surfaces of the reaction plates that come into contact with the core plates.
