A multi-purpose planting bed which is easily installable on a concrete floor of a rooftop, a sloped surface, a corrugated roof, and a wall surface, and which is capable of eliminating the need of a conventional net, and allowing the planting of turf, flowers, and trees. The planting bed comprises a presser cover (5) partitioned by holding rails (2) and having open windows (3) and a tray (7) for supporting the opening side of the cover (5) and receiving cultivated soil (6) filled in the cover (5). When the planting bed is used for pot planting, it is provided with a planting pot tray (9) having a planting pot (10) exposed to an open window (3) side in the stored state in the cover (5). When the plating bed is used for pot planting on the wall surface (20), it is provided with the planting pot tray (9) having the planting pot (10) exposed to the open window (3) side in the stored state in the cover (5), and a pocket-like soil receiving tray (15) is installed on the outside of the planting pot (10) of the planting pot tray (9) to receive the cultivated soil in the planting pot, and a mesh panel (19) for holding the soil receiving tray (15) at a predetermined position and further holding the cover (5).
