Description:
A MULTI-PURPOSE VEST CONVERTIBLE INTO A BAG WITH AN ADDITIONAL INNER

VOLUME

Technical Field of the Invention

The invention of the application relates to a multi-purpose vest completely convertible into a bag with an additional inner volume in terms of appearance, durability, ease of carrying and capacity, which is suitable for the use of all kinds of professionals (hunters, fishermen, technical service personnel, law enforcement personnel, etc.) which need to keep various materials on hand, change them and carry them from one location to another due to occupational requirements, yet is especially developed for the use of photographers and members of the press/media having to carry considerable amounts of large and small technical equipment and having to travel this way most of the time because of their profession.

Known State of the Art Related to the Invention (Prior Art)

In the known state of the art, there are vests with multiple pockets developed for users having to carry large amounts of equipment of various sizes on them continuously. As originating point of these vests is military areas of use, generally named tactical vests, these products are vests developed only for the user to wear, produced from materials of various compositions, and which have various sized pockets on different regions.

However, the greatest disadvantages of these vests are that they cannot provide enough volume to carry materials greater than those which can fit into the pockets due to the fact that they are only wearable. Larger sized materials which need to be carried by hand or on shoulders are both open to all kinds of dangers (humidity, impact, theft, etc.), and they also create a heavy load for the user.

Again, another product found in the known state of the art and developed for the same intended use is a bag with multiple divisions having a structure capable of carrying objects with volumes larger than vests. Although these bags have the advantage of having both the use of vest pocket-like small divisions and also a large inner volume together, they do not have the freedom of movement provided to the user with the feature of a wearable vest.

Users who have to use these products found in the known state of the art have to either accept the disadvantages and limitations brought about by choosing either of these products (vest or bag), or they have to carry/wear both products at the same time. Therefore, it was required to develop a hybridised product which both possesses the practicality provided by pockets of various sizes and the freedom of movement provided to the user by being wearable, and also provides the user with the advantage of a large inner volume that a bag with multiple divisions provides when necessary.

Brief Description and Objects of the Invention

The present multi-purpose vest convertible into a bag with an additional inner volume is of a structure comprising more than one pocket of different sizes, and being wearable when necessary in accordance with its intended use or being convertible into a bag having a wide inner volume divided into one or more divisions.

The following were aimed in the development of the "multi-purpose vest convertible into a bag" invention:

• Obtaining a vest which has various pockets of different sizes and different structures with different intended uses, and while being practical to use, which still has a high carrying capacity,

• Obtaining a vest convertible into a bag, when necessary, and this in a very short time with minimal handling, said bag having an inner volume with one or more divisions and a capacity which is 4-5 times greater than all other present vest pockets,

• Providing the user with all the advantages separately having a bag or having a vest in a single product, whether he uses it as a vest or a bag,

• On one hand, obtaining a vest of which the present number of pockets and total pocket volume does not decrease while transforming it into a bag with an additional and relatively large inner volume and on the other hand, being able to readily and rapidly convert the vest into a bag without the need to empty any of the present vest pockets which may be filled with equipment,

• The product being able to provide at least equivalent, if not even more superior innovative solutions than all of its single-purpose counterparts while in the form of a vest, and being able to provide at least equivalent, if not even more superior innovative solutions other than its ability to be converted into a vest, than all of its single-purpose counterparts while in the form of a bag,

• In terms of appearance, it not being detected that the invention is of a structure convertible into a bag with a full capacity and additional inner volume when it is in the form of a vest, and on the other hand, it not being detected that the invention is a product which may be converted into an actual and multi-purpose vest when necessary and this in a very short time (after additional equipment having been removed from the inner volume) when it is in the form of a bag,

The bellowed inner chamber which creates a protective, additional inner volume when the vest is converted into a bag being separable from the vest to be completely removed and left somewhere or to be used to create a portable, separate container if necessary,

This additional element which forms the carrier inner part of the bag both being produced from a waterproof synthetic textile, and also having support cushions that protects fragile electronic, photographic, etc. equipment placed therein from impact,

Enabling all outer pockets which may be readily accessed, filled and emptied while in the form of a vest to be able to be filled and emptied the same way after the product has been converted into a bag and this without causing any difficulty of use, even if they have been moved to different locations,

Enabling some necessary additional elements needed while in bag form to be used also in vest form, by making them serve different purposes, so that there is not any appearance of any unnecessary features on the vest,

All the elements necessary for the product to be readily carried being portable while in the form of a bag, and these being able to be readily separated from their present locations while in vest form and being able to be adapted to the bag in several different methods and forms, thus enabling users of different strengths and physiognomies to find their ideal carrying method,

Enabling the product to be carried with one hand or hung somewhere with a single handle on the back/top whether it is in the form of a vest or in the form of a bag, even while all its pockets are full and in bag form even when the inner volume is also full,

The large sized equipment (for example, heavy motorised camera bodies and the long-range tele-objectives thereon) which is carried in the inner chamber while in the form of a bag, being able to be securely carried on shoulders or attached to various D-rings at the sides when the bag is converted into a vest, Providing the possibility if desired of using the vest temporarily only for protection and not for carrying, in only three steps, i.e. taking the vest off, closing the main zipper and opening the inner chamber after having placed it onto a flat surface, thus enabling larger equipment to be placed into the vest by pushing them through the arm gaps.

The vest having a bellowed inner chamber of which the measurements remain within the dimensions and limitations of cabin baggage of airlines when the vest is in the form of a bag, and thus enabling the bag to not exceed this limit fully loaded and closed,

Providing a bag height, where a 17 inch laptop computer placed into the largest pocket found on the lower back while in the form of a vest may remain in place when the vest is transformed into a bag and may be inserted into and removed from that pocket, by means of adjusting the locations of the front middle pockets which enable the transformation by being opened and pushed onto the inside of the inner chamber,

Keeping some underarm antiperspirant elements which are useful while in the form of a vest, hidden within the closed bag, as these elements would lose their purpose when the vest is converted into a bag,

Enabling an additional collar which may be placed onto the collar portion of the vest with a zipper and from which a nylon hood will come out by opening the zipper thereon, to function as a sheet/cover at the same position which protects the bag and the equipment therein from the rain by opening and extending it onto the bag with the elastic around it while the vest is in the form of a bag as well,

Enabling a tripod which will be carried on the back in vest form to be carried at the same place in hanging, position while in bag form, but also, if desired, to be carried at the front of the bag with the straps found at the lowermost part on the left and right front corners,

Providing an additional security element against humidity and theft while the vest in in the form of a bag as a result of the wings forming the front of the upper cover being fixed into clip slots so as to cover the largest bellowed pockets found on the lower front, left and right,

Enabling the pockets with a transparent plastic surface where elements such as press cards, name tags, entry cards, business cards are presented in the most visible way and are located at the very top, near right and left shoulders while in the form of a vest to remain functional and serve their purpose even when the vest is in the form of a bag, by being located on the wings fastening the upper cover to the bag-body,

· In addition to all of these innovative and superior features, by the use of of wide surfaced Velcro fasteners, the most durable snap fasteners and zippers, etc., being able to carry the product as a bag without it being deformed even if the maximum inner load capacity is reached.
