Multi-split units of an air conditioner comprises two outdoor units. The outdoor units comprise: compressors (11, 12); gas-liquid separators (71, 72), each comprising an inlet for receiving a refrigerant discharged by an evaporator (6) and an outlet for discharging the gaseous refrigerant, wherein the outlets communicate with gas intakes of compressors (11, 12); and refrigerant storage components (A, a), selectively communicating with the gas-liquid separators (71, 72) to store the surplus refrigerant when the refrigerant in the outdoor units is in surplus or to output the refrigerant to the gas-liquid separators (71, 72) when the refrigerant in the outdoor units is insufficient, wherein the refrigerant storage components (A, a) of the two outdoor units selectively communicate with each other to deliver the surplus refrigerant in one outdoor unit to the outdoor unit with the insufficient refrigerant. An air conditioner having the multi-split units is also disclosed. The invention solves the technical problem in which a multi-split unit has poor performance or even fails because a refrigerant in outdoor units of the multi-split unit cannot be balanced.
