Abstract:
The objective of the present invention is to cool an electric motor effectively at all times by means of an injection refrigerant, and to enlarge the operable range, while preventing liquid compression, in a high-stage side compression mechanism in a multi-stage compressor. This multi-stage compressor (2) is equipped with: a sealed-container type housing (11); a low-stage-side compression mechanism (13) and a high-stage-side compression mechanism (14) arranged inside this housing (11); an electric motor (12) that is arranged in an intermediate-pressure zone inside the housing (11), and that drives the low-stage-side compression mechanism (13) and the high-stage-side compression mechanism (14); an injection nozzle (37) arranged penetrating the housing (11) and facing the electric motor (12); and a refrigerant supply unit (50) that extracts the gas-phase portion and the liquid-phase portion of the compressed refrigerant discharged from the high-stage-side compression mechanism (14), and selectively supplies these as the injection refrigerant to the injection nozzle (37).
