Abstract:
The multi-type air conditioner according to the present invention comprises: an outdoor unit comprising a liquid pipe, through which liquid refrigerant flows, and a gas pipe, through which gaseous refrigerant flows; a plurality of indoor units, including a first indoor unit and a second indoor unit which are connected to the liquid pipe and the gas pipe and circulate the refrigerant; a gas pipe-connecting tube for connecting the gas pipe with the plurality of indoor units, thereby allowing the flow of the gaseous refrigerant; a first gas branch duct for connecting the first indoor unit with the gas pipe-connecting tube, thereby allowing the flow of the gaseous refrigerant; a second gas branch duct for connecting the second indoor unit with the gas pipe-connecting tube, thereby allowing the flow of the gaseous refrigerant; an indoor heat exchanger-connecting tube for connecting the first and second indoor units, thereby allowing the flow of the liquid refrigerant; and a liquid pipe-connecting tube for connecting the first indoor unit with the liquid pipe, thereby allowing the flow of the liquid refrigerant. The first indoor unit comprises: a first indoor heat exchanger comprising a first heat exchange unit, which transfers heat between indoor air and refrigerant, and a second heat exchange unit, which transfers heat between indoor air and refrigerant and is disposed so as to be stacked with the first heat exchange unit; a first indoor fan for blowing air towards the first and second heat exchange units; a first liquid branch duct for connecting the indoor heat exchanger-connecting tube with the first indoor heat exchanger; a first heat exchange unit-connecting pipe for connecting the first liquid branch duct with the first heat exchange unit of the first indoor heat exchanger; a second heat exchange unit-connecting pipe for connecting the first liquid branch duct with the second heat exchange unit of the first indoor heat exchanger; and a first indoor expansion valve which is disposed on the second heat exchange unit-connecting pipe, and of which the degree of opening is controlled by an input signal of a control unit, and which selectively expands the flowing refrigerant. The liquid pipe-connecting tube connects the first heat exchange unit with the liquid pipe, and the first gas branch duct connects the second heat exchange unit with the gas pipe. The multi-type air conditioner according to the present invention can operate a first heat exchange unit of an indoor heat exchanger by means of a condenser, and a second heat exchange unit thereof by means of an evaporator, and thus has the advantage of being capable of continuously operating in a dehumidification mode while maintaining indoor temperatures within a predetermined range.
