Title:
MULTI-VORTEX NOZZLE FOR FEEDING COAGULANT
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2012/099360
Kind Code:
A3
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a nozzle for injecting coagulant, used in a water treatment process, into water to be treated. When coagulant is fed into water to be treated using a porous tube (102) in a waterfall weir part (101) according to the prior art, since the coagulant is coagulated only by means of a turbulent flow generated in the waterfall weir part (101), it may be difficult to adjust the generation of the turbulent flow with respect to a change in water quality or quantity. According to the present invention, coagulant supplied into an upper cap (301) of a multi-vortex nozzle (300) and collected in an upper housing (303) is uniformly distributed using a vertical notch (305) formed in each of nozzles (304). Also, the coagulant discharged from each of a plurality of nozzle discharge holes (306) is suctioned so as to inject the coagulant into the water to be treated using a vortex generated while pressurized water supplied into a lower housing (311) passes through a vortex-inducing path (307) and a vortex generation chamber (308), thereby increasing the diffusion rate of the coagulant. The vortex-inducing path is formed outside a lower portion of each of the nozzles so as to allow the pressurized water fed into the lower housing to induce the formation of the vortex, thereby artificially generating the turbulent flow.
