Abstract:
This multidimensional-range search device (10) has the following: an acquisition unit (11) that acquires a target index key that represents a given point on a space-filling curve; an extraction unit (12) that, on the basis of the bit sequence of the target index key, extracts prefix data that could represent the bit sequences of index keys in an unsearched segment of the space-filling curve; a determination unit (13) that determines whether prefix segments of the space-filling curve, represented by the prefix data, overlap a multidimensional-range-search query segment; an identification unit (14) that identifies, as a search point, an index key that represents either the lowest point or the highest point in an overlap segment where the query segment overlaps the prefix segment that, of those that were determined to be overlapping the query segment, is the closest to the target index key on the space-filling curve; and a search unit (15) that searches, in an index storage unit (16), for page information corresponding to the index key that was identified as a search point.
