Abstract:
This multidirectional drive device has: a spherical body; a first drive motor that has a drive shaft driving the spherical body around a roll axis; a second drive motor that has a drive shaft driving the spherical body around a pitch axis; a rotational member that supports the spherical body in a freely rotatable manner, and rotates around the roll axis in accordance with the rotation of the drive shaft of the first drive motor; a motive force transfer mechanism that is provided between the drive shaft of the second drive motor and the spherical body, transfers the motive force of the drive shaft of the second drive motor to the spherical body, and causes the spherical body to perform a sliding rotation with regard to the rotational member; and a retaining part that supports the first drive motor and the second drive motor.
