Abstract:
Disclosed is a multidirectional input device wherein an operation member (40) incorporated in an annular movable magnet (49) so as to be in direct contact with at least two faces of the annular movable magnet (49) is disposed in the inner space of an annular stationary magnet (35) secured to the upper surface of a base (10); and the operation member (40) can be operated through an operation hole (51) of a cover (50) which covers the annular stationary magnet (35). The operation member (40) slides along the lower surface of the cover (50), so that the variation of the magnetic attraction of the annular movable magnet (49) is detected by a detection element (25) provided on the base (10). Further, the operation member (40) can be automatically returned to the center position due to the repelling force occurring between the annular stationary magnet (35) and the annular movable magnet (49).
