Description:
MULTIFUNCTIONAL HYGIENIC BUG SWATTER

DESCRIPTION OF INVENTION

Technical field

This invention is related to a bug swatter as defined by the international patent classification (IPC) under number: A01M3/022

Technical problem

The technical problem resolved by this invention relates to the construction of a bug swatter, by removing problems related to ugly stains created by the elimination of insects on surfaces, regardless of their size, as well as problems related to searching for insects during the elimination procedure itself. Likewise, the hygienic problem of removing insects after elimination is also resolved, and the swatter can also be reused.

Background art

There exist bug swatters that resolve certain aspects of these problems, but only in part and not efficiently enough. In addition, such swatters are complicated and not cost-effective. Some of the previous solutions are:

US2157106A, US3673730A, US4653222, US4905408, US6055767A, US985479481

Each of these patents has certain problems that have prevented the wide use of the inventions.

Patent US4905408 is the most similar to this invention; however, this invention has several comparative advantages.

The advantages of this invention are the following: the delimiter is constructed in a manner that it is located on the entire perimeter of the paddle, which prevents insects from being crushed on the surface after swatting even if they are located on edges of objects, as the gap between the sticky side and the surface containing the insect is always the same. Furthermore, the construction of two frames with protrusions of different sizes that also create the delimiter between the sticky side of the paddle and the surface, allows for the removal of insects of various sizes (mosquitoes, flies, ants, bees and wasps), depending on the side of the swatter being used, without crushing the insects to the surface. Another advantage of the invention is that, due to the construction of the peripheral delimiter and the firm perforated panel in the centre that is sticky on both sides, the central delimiter that can be found in the previously mentioned patent is avoided, and it can be used to crush an insect to the surface, which is a common occurrence, as insects are most often swatted with the centre of the swatter. Yet another advantage of this invention is that the upper frame, i.e. delimiter can be easily removed, and then it can be used as a standard swatter in cases where the hygienic removal of insects is not necessary (outdoors).

Another advantage of the swatter is that the sticky sides are made from sticky water-washable material, which allows for the reuse of the swatter after the insects have been hygienically removed from the swatter with a jet of water.

The construction of the swatter allows for a central sticky part on both sides to be half the size of that in the aforementioned patent, and it can also be easily changed, which makes it more ecologically acceptable.

The purpose of this invention is to offer a multifunctional hygienic bug swatter with multiple advantages in comparison with previous swatters, that allows for the swatting of insects without dirtying the surface on which the insects are located, regardless of their size, which can be reused due to its water-washable sticky side, and which allows for the most hygienic subsequent removal of insects, under a jet of water and without needing to use your hands. An additional perk of this invention is that, by removing one of its parts (the upper frame), it can be turned into a standard bug swatter.

The construction of this invention is both very innovative and very simple, which makes it the most acceptable solution both from an ecological and from an economic viewpoint.

Brief description of drawings

The drawings included in the description and which constitute an integral part of the invention depict the best way for applying the invention, and they also help in elaborating the basic principles of the invention.

Drawing 1 shows the bug swatter - front view

Drawing 2 shows the bug swatter - side view

Drawing 3 shows the magnified paddle of the bug swatter - side view

Drawing 4 shows the perforated panel of the swatter with upper sticky side

Drawing 5 shows the perforated panel of the swatter with bottom sticky side

Drawing 6 shows the upper and lower frame of the swatter - in perspective

Drawing 7 shows a section of the upper and lower frame of the swatter - in perspective Detailed description of at least one application of the invention Now we shall describe the details of the application of the invention, as depicted by the drawings described above.

By observing Drawings 1, 2 and 3, it can be seen that the bug swatter consists of a ha ndle (1) that has a hang hole at the bottom (6), and paddle (2).

The paddle (2) of the bug swatter consists of a flat, thin, perforated and firm plastic panel (5) and two interconnectable frames (3) and (4). As seen in Drawings 3, 6 and 7, the frames (3) and (4) are constructed in the manner that they narrow into a pointy triangle (17) at the top (10), which, in case that the insect is missed, leaves the slightest possibility of the insect being hit with them, which would result in a stain on the surface . The upper frame (3) can protrude 2-5 mm towards the top (10), while the lower frame (4) can protrude 6-10 mm towards the top (10) which, in relation to the flat perforated panel (5) coated with sticky water-washable material on both sides, allows for the insect to, depending on its size (mosquito, ant, fruit fly, fly, bee or wasp) and the application of either the upper or lower side of the paddle (2), be pressed on the surface with such little force that no stain is left, instead sticking on the sticky surface (7 and 8) Drawings 4 and 5, with which the perforated panel (5) of the paddle is coated. The lower frame (4) is integrated together with the handle of the swatter (1). The frames (3) and (4) contain the connective elements (11) and (13), in which the upper frame

(3) has protruding cylinder-shaped elements (11) with a thicker tip (12), while the lower frame

(4) on the same raster as the protruding elements ( 11) on the upper frame (3) has the connective elements of round holes ( 13) with a diameter slightly larger than that of the cylinder-shaped elements in the upper frame (4), with a slight extension at the tip (14). Such a connection where the thin flat perforated panel that is sticky on both sides (5), which on its perimeter in the same raster as the connective elements (11) on the upper frame (3) has slightly larger holes (9), is inserted between the two frames (3) and (4), and light pressure is applied to fuse it into one compact unit, allowing for the swatter to, by removing the upper frame (3) and placing the protective perforated foil (not shown) on the upper side of the sticky part (7) Drawing 4 to be used as a standard swatter in cases where hygienic conditions are not necessary, for example outdoor areas, balconies and terraces.

In accordance with the invention and in reference to Drawings 4 and 5, the perforated panel

(5) has a sticky part on its upper side (7) up to the inner rim ( 16) in order to prevent the panel (5) and the upper frame (3) from sticking together, which allows removing the upper frame from the paddle (2) as needed. At the same time, it has a sticky part on the bottom side (8) along the entire surface of the perforated panel (5), which allows for it to stick to the lower frame (4) which is integrated with the handle (1) of the swatter, thus forming a compact unit which allows for the swatter to be used as a standard bug swatter by removing the upper frame (3). Furthermore, the perforated panel (5) has to be made from a firm and thin plastic material which, together with the frames (3) and (4) of the paddle (2), when the swatter is being used, leaves an even gap along the entire surface of the perforated panel (5) which is coated with sticky parts (7 and 8) on both sides, in relation to the surface on which the insect is located, in order to avoid unwanted dirtying of the surface.

The lower part of the upper frame (3) contains an integrated flap (15) which allows for the easy removal of the upper part of the frame (3) from the paddle (2). The upper frame (3) and the lower frame (4) are made from plastic materials in different colours, in order to simply determine which side to use against which kind of insect, depending on the size of the insect. In accordance with the invention, the sticky parts (7 and 8) have to be made from a sticky, water-washable material onto which insects stick upon use of the swatter, which allows them to later be easily and hygienica lly removed with a jet of water, without the need for using hands and leaving the swatter ready for reuse.

Application of the invention

The invention is applied the standard way.

In this manner, the invention offers a practical and hygienic contraption that can be produced cost-effectively, and which includes significant improvements in comparison with previous contraptions of this type. Experts will find it obvious that certain small adjustments and changes on the bug swatter could be made, without deviating from the scope and essence of the invention.
