Abstract:
Provided is a multilayer antifouling coating having excellent impact resistance and having early stage immersion antifouling properties and long-term antifouling properties that are both excellent. The present invention provides a multilayer antifouling coating having a lower layer coating and an upper layer coating formed thereon. In the multilayer antifouling coat film, the upper layer coating contains a copolymer A, the lower layer coating contains a copolymer B, and the upper layer coating and the lower layer coating each contain an antifouling chemical agent. The copolymer A is a copolymer comprising a first monomer mixture, which contains a monomer (a) and a monomer (c), and may also contain a monomer (b). The copolymer B is a copolymer comprising a second monomer mixture containing at least one of the monomer (a) and the monomer (b). The monomers (a) to (c) are represented respectively by formulae (1) to (3). In the copolymer A, when the first monomer mixture is 100% by mass, the content of the monomer (a) is 10 to 45% by mass, the content of the monomer (b) is 0 to 15% by mass, the content of the monomer (c) is 20 to 50% by mass, and the total content of the monomer (a) and the monomer (b) is 10 to 45% by mass. In the copolymer B, which is a copolymer that is different from the copolymer A, when the second monomer mixture represents 100% by mass, the total content of the monomer (a) and the monomer (b) is 46 to 65% by mass.
