Abstract:
The present invention provides: a multilayer body which comprises a polarizer and an optically anisotropic layer, and which exhibits excellent thermal durability; an organic electroluminescent device which comprises this multilayer body; and a liquid crystal display device. A multilayer body according to the present invention comprises two substrates and a polarizing plate that is arranged between the two substrates; and the polarizing plate comprises an optically anisotropic layer and a polarizer. The optically anisotropic layer is formed using a composition that contains a polymerizable liquid crystal compound represented by formula (I); the polarizer contains a polyvinyl alcohol resin; and the substrates have a water vapor permeability of 10-3 g/m2·day or less.
