Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a multilayer ceramic capacitor in which degradation of insulating resistance and the occurrence of delamination can be prevented. [Solution] The multilayer ceramic capacitor (10) is provided with a capacitor body (11) having a capacitor part (11a) comprising an alternating layer stack of a plurality of internal electrode layers (13-1 - 13-n) and a plurality of dielectric layers (14-1 - 14-n), a first protection part (11b1) comprising a layer stack of a plurality of dielectric layers and contacting the internal electrode layer (13-1) at the lowermost position in the capacitor part (11a), and a second protection part (11b2) comprising a layer stack of a plurality of dielectric layers and contacting the internal electrode layer (13-n) at the uppermost position in the capacitor part (11a). The lowermost internal electrode layer (13-1) which contacts the first protection part (11b1) retains a metal oxide including a metal element that forms the internal electrode layer (13-1), rendering it an insulator.
