Abstract:
The present invention pertains to a multilayer container: having a multilayer structure that comprises at least an inner layer (1) comprising a polyolefin, an adhesion layer (2a), a gas barrier layer (3a), an oxygen-absorbing layer (4), a gas barrier layer (3b), an adhesion layer (2b), and an outer layer (5) comprising a polyolefin; and having at least a body section and a bottom section. The gas barrier layers (3a, 3b) each comprise an ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymer. The oxygen-absorbing layer (4) comprises an oxygen-absorbing resin composition containing an ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymer and an oxidizing organic component, and an adsorbent is contained in the layers further inside than the gas barrier layer (3a). Due to the fact that the thickness of the thinnest section of the multilayer container is 430 μm or less, and the amount of oxygen absorbed after heat sterilization is at least 23 cc per gram of the oxygen-absorbing resin composition, despite being thin, the multilayer container is able to maintain excellent oxygen barrier properties and flavor-retaining properties of a product inside even when used as a vehicle for retort sterilization.
