Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of preventing an electrolyte membrane with a catalyst layer from voltage increase caused by insufficient adhesion between an electrolyte membrane and an adhesion promoting layer and from oxidation degradation of a hydrocarbon polymer electrolyte membrane. The present invention provides a multilayer electrolyte membrane which is obtained by superposing a second layer that is formed of a fluorine-containing polymer electrolyte and a polyvinylidene fluoride on at least one surface of a first layer that is formed of a hydrocarbon polymer electrolyte, and which has a mixed region near the interface between the first layer and the second layer.
