Abstract:
Provided are a multilayer film and an optical member, the surfaces of which have excellent persistence of hydrophilic properties. The multilayer film, which has a backing layer that is used for coating the surface of a substrate and is disposed on the surface of the substrate and a hydrophilic layer laminated on the backing layer, is characterized in that: the backing layer comprises a metal compound that can become trivalent or hexavalent and a metal compound for which the electronegativity difference with oxygen is at least 2.1; and the hydrophilic layer comprises phosphoric acid.
