Abstract:
The present invention relates to a multilayer preform that has inner and outer layers, each of which is formed from an ethylene terephthalate polyester resin, and at least one intermediate layer which is formed from at least a low crystallinity ethylene terephthalate polyester resin and a gas barrier aromatic polyamide resin. The low crystallinity ethylene terephthalate polyester resin contains 15-20% by mole of cyclohexane dimethanol or 7.5-15% by mole of isophthalic acid as a copolymerization component; the weight ratio of the low crystallinity ethylene terephthalate polyester resin to the gas barrier aromatic polyamide resin is within the range of from 50:50 to 75:25; the weight ratio of the intermediate layer in the whole preform is 1% by weight or more but less than 10% by weight; and the haze in a portion having a multilayer structure is 5% or more. Consequently, this multilayer preform is capable of providing a stretch blow molded container that has excellent transparency, gas barrier properties and mechanical strength.
