l BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

In the light of developments in technology, fabrics are started to be cleaned by washing machines throughout the world with cleaning compositions involving detergents. Consumers continually seek for a detergent which offers improved cleaning of fabrics whether they are woven from synthetic fibers or cotton while maintaining their initial color even they are repeatedly washed or cleaned.

Manufacturers have made many attempts in order to fulfill the cleaning and stain removal expectations of the customers by considering type of the fabric since the needs of consumers determine the consumer products, manufacturing processes and marketing. Nowadays, fabric materials are produced in a way as to contain substantial amount of synthetic fibers since synthetic fibers offer improved abrasion resistance and crease resistance to the garments compared to fabrics woven only from cotton. Despite the high strength and endurance of synthetic and synthetic fiber blended fabrics, they are hydrophobic in nature which makes their laundering difficult. Therefore, they have tendency to retain oily soils and stains which are also hydrophobic in nature. Moreover, the laundering of oily soils and stains from the surfaces of fabrics woven from synthetic fibers is very challenging and difficult even after repeated laundering because synthetic fibers have the tendency to absorb and accumulate hydrophobic oily stains and soils.

In the near future, it is not expected that consumers do not relinquish their preferences of buying fabrics having high strength, endurance and high abrasion resistance due to the economic reasons. Because of that the use of synthetic fibers has created a need for improved stain treatment laundering and so, cleaning performance of the fabrics woven from synthetic fibers should be improved. In order to fulfill the consumer needs and expectations, it is of importance to find a useful solution for the treatment of stained fabrics whether woven from synthetic fibers or cotton.

Consumers apply various approaches for the treatment of stains. In one approach, consumers directly wash the stained fabrics with a detergent having the ability to remove stains. This approach works properly only if the stains are mild and not oily. However, if the stains are resistant and oily, desired cleaning performance can't be obtained since the detergent can't be concentrated on the stains as a result of dilution of detergent during the wash cycle. Therefore, the effective removal of the stains can be achieved by using stain treatment aids like concentrated detergents or pre-spotter compositions designed for removal of multiplicity of grease and food stains. The detergent ingredients being efficient for stain removal are capable of releasing active oxygen. These active oxygen releasing ingredients may not be incorporated with other ingredients of the detergent since they lose their effectiveness and become unavailable during washing process. As a result, it is better to have these stain treatment aids in a separate compartment or in a different bottle which makes the stain treatment process is cumbersome, since consumers has to store all items like detergent, stain treatment aid and accompanying apparatus when they buy. Besides, consumers must find and identify the stain treatment aid and then treat the stains before placing fabrics in the washing machine. Storage of all items separately occupies more places, needs extra storage places which leads to untidiness. As a result of unplanned untidiness, cleaning process takes extra time, mental focus which makes the process cumbersome for the users.

Generally stain treatment composition is directly applied to the stained area on the fabric and through the washing operation; stains are removed effectively by leaving no trace. Most of the cases, stain treatment is not easy and requires the application of physical forces in that after pouring of the stain treatment aid composition, scrubbing by using a wipe or by his or her fingers or by rubbing the fabrics together becomes inevitable to remove heavy dirt stains. Scrubbing with a wipe can't implement an effective cleaning and removal of stains since the dirt exist on the wipe can be transferred to the stained fabric which complicates the cleaning process. Additionally, wipes becomes wet after scrubbing which increases contamination and thus, reduces the hygiene of the wetted wipes and cleaned fabrics. In the case of scrubbing by rubbing fabrics together, stain can be diffused to a larger area which also makes the cleaning process cumbersome and reduces the likelihood of stain removal. Consumers sometimes use their fingers for scrubbing of stains which can't provide enough force to remove stains instead their hands are contaminated during scrubbing. If the consumers have sensitive skin, the ingredients of stain treatment aid composition causes skin irritation and allergies. When considering drawbacks of above stain treatment applications, it is better to scrub the stained fabric by using a brush which prevents contamination of users' hands, uncontrolled spreading of dirt and burden of the cleaning process. Mostly, brushes are supplied as an accompanying apparatus which must be kept separately. During stain treatment process, consumers have to remember the place where they place the brush and then search for it that makes the process cumbersome by wasting extra time, mental focus and patience of users. Besides, consumers may prefer to keep brush and additional accompanying apparatus near the washing machine which may lead to undesired untidiness. Direct application of the stain treatment aid composition is critical for the removal of the stains as scrubbing. Diffuse of the stain complicates the cleaning process because of that stain treatment aid composition has to be applied directly on the stain in order to prevent spreading of dirt and excess smear of the fabric, otherwise effective stain removal can't be achieved.

During cleaning, consumer needs to measure the amount of detergent because pouring of detergent directly from bottle is not practical for easy handling which may lead to spilling, underdosing or overdosing of the detergent whether it is in solid or in liquid form. If the underdosing amount of detergent is measured, the cleaning efficiency and performance of the cleaning composition will be low which lead to incomplete removal of soils and thus, extra washing is required which brings about the fabric degradation, the spent of extra detergent, cost and time. In the case of overdosing, extra use of detergent may cause fabric degradation since it contains detersive ingredients. Besides the increased cost of the washing process, overdosing is critical in terms of environmental concerns as well.

As a result, consumers wish both to avoid the spill, wasteful overdosing, and inefficient underdosing of detergent and to minimize the cost of the cleaning operation. Because of that consumers prefer to use metering or dosing cap to use the appropriate amount of detergent. For this, they pour the detergent from the container bottle to the dosing cap and then, the detergent is transferred to the washing tab that allows dispensing of precise amounts of detergent. Dosing cap is prepared to fit over the detergent bottle which prevents the spilling out of residual product after usage. If the detergent bottle covers are prepared as just measuring cap, customers will need to have extra appliances like brushes, pre-spotter containers, etc. which necessitates extra space leading to undesired untidiness. During cleaning operation, users have to find the detergent and appliances so that the cleaning process becomes cumbersome and time consuming.

Bottle covers integrated with measuring cap and a brush are already known. US5549209A relates with a bottle closure which is a measuring cap and also has brush bristles depending from a lower surface. EP0257426A relates to a bottle cover which functions as a dispensing cap having scrubbing means. The ability to use of a bottle cover as dosing cap enables the proper dosing of detergent amount which increases the efficiency of cleaning process and reduces the cost of the operation. Additionally, the presence of brush and/or scrubber means also enable the rubbing of stained area with the detergent which may increase strain removal and cleaning efficiency through the application of physical force. However, these applications relates to the use of the same detergent composition as stain treatment aid composition and as washing detergent which actually reduces the cleaning performance of the application. They do not provide an extra container for different detergent compositions specific for the purpose of cleaning process. Because of that consumers will demand to use stain treatment aid composition for effective stain removal composition which keeps extra space leading to unplanned untidiness.

The combined pre-spotter compositions and detergent is known from the patent US4720351 A which combines a detergent product with a self-contained pre-spotter, all in one package. The product involving a pre-spotter dispensing container is attached to or integral with the detergent container, but can be detached from or otherwise used separately from the detergent product container. The said product is prepared to provide a container containing a volume of detergent, a sub-container containing smaller volume of pre-spotter composition wherein said sub-container is mounted in close transported association with said container. This product may facilitate storage, handling, use and effectiveness in terms of combination of two different compositions. However, it suffers from the need of customer extra appliances like brush, dosing cap which complicates the storage, handling, use, effectiveness of appliances and thus, process becomes cumbersome for the consumer. Additionally, said product contains lower amount of pre-spotter composition which can be consumed rapidly.

There exists a need and demand for a product providing incompatible detergent compositions in separate compartments uniquely packaged together as one product.
