[01] This invention is intended to be used in the field of exercise and health professionals such as physiotherapy, personal trainers and related for the purpose of doing self myofascial release and therapeutic massage, combined with infrared and red light radiation, emitted in the same area as the massage.

FUNDAMENTALS OF THE TECHNIQUE

[02] There are several scientific studies demonstrating the benefits of red light and infrared radiation in bones, nerves, blood vessels, organs, muscle and connective tissue, stimulating cellular respiration and recovery.

[03] If a muscular pain manifests itself when a specific point of the body is pressed, it is called a trigger point, which is a small nodule, or a fiber in the muscles that can be palpated.

[04] Trigger points are formed by several factors that include poor posture at work, poor gait mechanics, excessive exercise and repetitive movements.

[05] Myofascial pain can be reduced and is more common in the back, shoulders and neck; it can also appear on any other part of the body.

[06] Pressing the muscle in the area of the trigger point is an efficient technique to diminish this pain. The use of tools like lacrosse balls is a good strategy to apply pressure and eliminate myofascial pain.

STATUS OF THE TECHOLOGY

[07] In the current technology there are devices with infrared and red radiation, or both. They can be found in exercises and health professionals such as physiotherapy, personal trainers and related, oftentimes used to increase mobility, to promote reparation of tissues and on some skin conditions.

PROPOSED INVENTION

[09] The purpose of this invention is to provide a device designed for self myofascial release and at the same time perform red light and infrared radiation therapy using the same product, making the activity more time efficient. [010] The ball is basically used to apply pressure on the muscles and undo restrictions.

[011] The proximity to the skin allows the device to use less energy compared to the infrared lamps of the current technology.

[012] The ball can be used with or without the LED lights turned on.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

[018] According to Figures 1, 2 and 3 the present invention comprises a ball (1) made of translucent material, rigid silicone, containing a lateral opening (2) for inserting the case of the LED lights (3) Case containing rechargeable batteries (4), LEDs (5) (Light Emitting Diode) and a LED drive (6) to activate the electric circuit (7). [019] The cabinet (3) is composed of a pair of LED lamps (5), one red light lamp (51) and another infrared radiation 1amp (52).
