Abstract:
An N dimensional signal processor using D scale non-uniform sampling is disclosed. The processor includes a multi-resolution sampler (A) for outputting a stream of non-uniformly spaced samples resulting in an overall average sampling rate sufficient to satisfy Nyquist criteria to reconstruct the signal, a filter bank router (B) for mapping each point in the output stream to a filter in a filter bank, a digital filter bank (C) where each filter in the bank does filter of a subset of the samples at different uniform rates such taht the stream is uniformly spaced, and a consolidator (D) for consolidating or interleaving uniformly spaced streams form the filters into one non uniformly spaced stream.
