Abstract:
Novel $g(b)-diketone compounds represented by general formula (3); and coordination compounds obtained by modifying the $g(b)-diketone compounds with a metal through coordination. The compounds can be easily synthesized. The compounds can be a catalyst for asymmetric synthesis with which a high asymmetric yield and a high chemical yield can be attained. In the formula, X represents (CH¿2?)¿n?, where n is an integer of 2 to 20, and each CH¿2? in X may be replaced with oxygen, a heterocycle, or an aromatic ring, provided that X contains no successive oxygen atoms.
